Youth Summer Camp 2023 Yoga Instructor

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and energetic Yoga Instructor to join our team at a vibrant youth summer camp. As the Yoga Instructor, you will have the opportunity to inspire and guide children and teenagers in exploring the benefits of yoga. This is a seasonal position for the duration of our summer camp, creating a positive impact on the lives of young campers.

Summer Camp Duration: 03 July through 11 Aug, 5 days a week, 9A – 5P.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate yoga programs and classes for children and teenagers attending the summer camp.
  • Teach yoga techniques, postures, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques in a fun and engaging manner.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive environment, promoting physical and emotional well-being for all participants.
  • Adapt yoga sessions to accommodate various skill levels and individual needs of campers.
  • Incorporate storytelling, games, music, and creative activities to enhance the learning experience and maintain campers’ interest.
  • Foster a sense of teamwork, cooperation, and respect among the campers.
  • Provide guidance and support to campers, encouraging self-confidence, mindfulness, and personal growth.
  • Monitor and ensure the safety of all campers during yoga sessions, following appropriate protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Collaborate with other camp staff to coordinate schedules and integrate yoga activities with the overall camp program.

Qualifications

  • Certified yoga instructor with a specialization in teaching yoga to children and teenagers.
  • Experience working with youth in a camp, school, or community setting.
  • Strong knowledge of yoga principles, techniques, and postures suitable for young participants.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with children and teenagers.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and creativity in delivering engaging yoga sessions for diverse groups of campers.
  • First aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to the start of the camp).
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends, as per the camp’s requirements.
